I’m Jamil, a part II Architectural Assistant working for a more sustainable future.

About me

I am an architectural designer with a strong focus on creating innovative and sustainable environments that cater to the evolving needs of modern urban life. With a Master’s in Architecture from Coventry University, I aim to integrate sustainability, functionality, and aesthetics in every project I undertake. My work reflects my passion for designing spaces that foster community engagement and contribute positively to the built environment.

One of my key projects, Revitalizing Deptford Creek, focuses on improving water quality in the River Thames while providing clean water to Deptford Creek. The design features a Roman-inspired bathhouse that uses heat from machinery to avoid energy waste and create a sustainable, community-focused environment. The use of Ferrok, an environmentally-friendly alternative to concrete, highlights my commitment to sustainability in design, particularly for water-related projects.

Another significant project, Retrofit Project: Residential and Art Gallery Space on Corporation Street, Coventry, exemplifies my ability to adapt existing structures for modern use. This project transforms a former Indian Masala 51-52 building into a dynamic space that combines high-quality residential living with an art gallery. By repurposing materials from the existing structure of Ikea store and integrating urban farming practices, the design focuses on sustainability while fostering creativity and cultural engagement within the local community.

Both of these projects represent my commitment to creating spaces that are not only functional and sustainable but also enrich the communities they serve.
